Sources say that the five accused have told the police that they immediately fled from the spot after killing 20-year-old Anjali as they were scared.

His body was later found on the road without clothes and with a broken back and leg in Delhi’s Kanjhawala sending shock waves across the country on New Years.

He has also confessed to being under the influence of alcohol. Official sources say that he had consumed more than two bottles of liquor inside the car.

The incident took place in Delhi’s Sultanpuri on Sunday around 2 am when Anjali, who works in an event management company, was returning home from work.

Deepak Khanna was driving the car, while Amit Khanna, Manoj Mittal, Krishan and Mithun were sitting in the car.

Officials said that after driving for a few km, Deepak realized that something was tangled in the undercarriage of the car.

The car was stopped at Jonti village in Kanjhawala when Mithun, who was sitting next to Deepak, saw Anjali’s hand while taking a U-turn.

After her body falls on the road, the men, instead of getting down and helping her, leave Anjali and run away.

Thereafter, the accused twice returned the borrowed Maruti Baleno car to Ashutosh, who had lent it to them.

When the police trace the car’s owner, Lokesh, he reveals that he lent it to Ashutosh, who lent it to his friends Amit and Deepak.
