Asad Umar warns of ‘difficult situation’ if ECP fails to do justice during Punjab bypolls – Henry Club

He was addressing a press conference in Islamabad in connection with the by-elections to be held on July 17.

PTI has alleged That “interference” is underway to change the outcome of the upcoming by-elections. It has accused the government of allegedly altering the electoral rolls and using the state machinery to benefit former PTI candidates who supported the ruling party.

In his press briefing today, Omar asked the party workers to prepare thoroughly for the upcoming elections.

“Whatever they do, PTI will win with an overwhelming majority on July 17,” he said. Once Punjab is released from their (government’s) hands, what will the imported prime minister in Islamabad do? We are heading towards a new election.”

He also criticized the election watchdog and “advised” it to allot itself an election symbol as it was “behaving like a political party”.

Responding to a question, the PTI general secretary said the party’s fight was against injustice, undemocratic attitude and foreign interference.

He insisted that this is not against any one person, it is an ideological fight.

‘Imran Riaz will come as a hero’

He claimed that men in plain clothes came to the house of an 80-year-old widow and alleged that he had abducted a two-year-old girl. The more such tactics are used, the more emotional people will become, he said.
