Ashwini Vaishnav successfully tests Made-in-India 5G call at IIT Madras – Times of India

New Delhi: Minister of Telecom and IT ashwini vaishnav Visited the 5G test-bed on Thursday IIT Successfully tested 5G calls on Madras and indigenously developed networks.
The test-bed was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
“This is the first step towards making the solution commercially viable. Over the next few months, the Made-in-India solution has the potential to go from local to global. It will also meet India’s needs indigenously and securely. does,” said the minister.
At a time when concerns about cyber security are at its peak, India is developing its own local 5G network solution, which is promised to be more efficient in cost as well as productivity.
Vaishnav has said that the government, once it is ready for commercialization on state-owned BSNL’s network, will deploy the solution, and then it will be offered to other private operators as well. “We are confident that a more efficient solution that is also cost-effective will appeal to companies not only in India but also abroad. We feel that the 5G stack made in India will have immense export potential.
For BSNL, the 4G and 5G stack is being developed by a consortium on which C-DOT is working, while Bye The group comes with TCS and Tejas. The government will deploy this solution to upgrade BSNL’s 4G and then to 5G.
