Asia’s first floating festival started in Madhya Pradesh, see what it has to offer

The festival, which started on February 1, will go on till the end of April, so there is plenty of time to plan a trip for this wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Asia’s first floating festival, Gandisagar Floating Festival, began on February 1 in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. The first edition of the festival, which will run for five days, was inaugurated by Tourism, Culture Minister Usha Thakur. and Religious Trusts and Endowments, Government of Madhya Pradesh. According to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department, the festival will see stargazing along with live performances, adventure activities and other experiences. On the first day of the festival, the Indian Ocean Rock Band entertained the visitors with a live performance.

The floating festival is being organized till April 30 with the aim of providing a unique experience to the visitors of Mandsaur. A tweet from the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department said, “Asia’s first floating festival will go on till April 30 and is all set to provide a unique glamping and adventure experience to the tourists visiting Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.”

People will be able to enjoy boat spa, boat safari, live music, floating market and floating stage in the festival. These activities will continue for the first five days. Madhya Pradesh Tourism tweeted, “For the first five days (till February 5), visitors can enjoy floating stage, floating market, boat spa, boat safari and live music.”

While the floating festival will end on February 5, the tourist tent city will remain open for the next three months. Adventure sports activities will also continue for the next six months. A variety of adventure activities are scheduled near Gandisagar Reservoir.

Visitors will get a chance to watch live performances and other forms of entertainment on a floating stage. Trekking through the jungle and silent woodland tours offer unique thrills to the adventure seekers. Additionally, the festival’s culinary selection of authentic regional dishes will enthrall foodies.

According to the Department of Tourism, “The Gandhisagar Floating Festival is a great festival for nature lovers and adventurers, taking them away from the hustle and bustle of the city to natural surroundings. This is the place where adventure enthusiasts as well as nature lovers come to have a dazzling experience in the lap of nature.

You can reach the festival in many ways. By road, you can take buses to Mandsaur from all the major cities of Madhya Pradesh. Most of these cities are also connected by train. If you are traveling by air, Indore airport is the nearest one to Mandsaur.
