Seven accused in police custody on Sunday

JAIPUR: A day after they allegedly opened fire inside a food court near Riddhi Siddhi Marg and ransacked shops for stopping smoking, police on Sunday arrested seven people.
DCP South Mridul Kachhwa said that seven accused have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case.
The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Arms Act and IPC including section 307 (attempt to murder).
Shipra Path SHO Mahavir Singh Rathore said that the accused have been identified as Girish Pratap (22), resident of Nadbai in Bharatpur, Amit Solanki (23), resident of Halena in Bharatpur, Saurabh Kasana (18), resident of Kherli. In Bharatpur, both are Manish Kumar (21), a resident of Bharatpur, Rajat Solanki (22) and Om Prakash, a resident of Bharatpur, and Dinesh Singh (24), a native of Alwar district.
Police said they had received information about an uproar outside a food court at 11.30 pm on Saturday. About 10 to 15 youths armed with sticks were attacking the shopkeepers and ransacking their shops.
Police found that Manish, Rajat and Saurabh had a scuffle with a shopkeeper over smoking inside the food court. Rajat called his friends who reached the spot and opened fire on the shopkeepers.
Rathore said several teams were formed with a special purpose to trace the suspects who opened fire.
“The accused took it as an insult when he stopped and hence fired two bullets, one of which hit a shop inside the food court,” Rathore said. Police are looking for two other suspects, identified as Hitesh alias Mintu Faujdar and Jatin Faujdar. ,
