Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that assassin’s creed infinity Will not be a free-to-play online game like its previous versions. As reported by Engadget, this was confirmed during the developer’s last conference call discussing the company’s financial results. The existence of the project was first reported in July and since then the developer has slowly shared its details.
Ubisoft said that Assassins Creed Infinity, which is the project’s name (not yet confirmed), will be a live online game similar to Grand Theft Auto Online, requiring you to play the base game online.
The report states that Guillemot also said, “There’s going to be a lot of narrative elements in this game. It’s going to be a very innovative game, but it’s going to have a lot of players already in all the other Assassin’s Creed games.” will pass, all the elements that they love… from the start. So it’s going to be a huge game. But with a lot of elements that are already there in the games that we published in the past ”
Previously all Assassin’s Creed games had the same narrative story. But, Infinity is expected to have multiple settings where each character will have a completely different environment. That means Infinity could have multiple games in one package, though how it will connect to fans is yet to be revealed. The report also states that it will be an online platform with room to expand in the future, so new content could come into play in the form of campaigns or seasons.
Ubisoft brought in its integrated resources from the Montreal and Quebec teams, who had already worked on various Assassin’s Creed games, to develop this version. Guillemot said it is still in its early stages and that its earliest possible release will be no earlier than 2024.
