Islamabad: Australia cricket team will tour Pakistan For the first time in nearly 24 years, it will play three Test matches, three One Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International next year. Pakistan Cricket Board Said Monday.

“Australia are one of the high performing sides and playing in our backyard for the first time after a gap of 24 years will be a special treat for the fans.” PCB President Ramiz Raja said in a statement.
“Similarly, it will be a wonderful opportunity for Australia’s cricketers to not only play at our prestigious venues, but also to feel and enjoy the respect, love and hospitality that this great country has to offer. Most of the cricketers of the previous generation had missed the offshore game.”
Pakistan was out of bounds for hosting international cricket for almost a decade after the attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in March 2009. Eight people were killed during the terror attack, and several Sri Lankan players were injured.
Pakistan also lost its status as co-hosts of the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
Sri Lanka were the first team to return for a Test series in December 2019, and were followed by Bangladesh and South Africa. Other teams have toured for limited overs series.

“The safety and well-being of our players and staff is our #1 priority,” Hockley said in a statement. “We will continue to work with the PCB and relevant agencies to ensure proper and adequate arrangements for the tour.”
The PCB said that a delegation from Cricket Australia will visit Pakistan to meet government officials and finalize arrangements.
Pakistan and Australia are going to face each other in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in Dubai on Thursday.
Just ahead of the T20 World Cup, New Zealand abandoned their limited-overs tour of Pakistan due to security concerns, and England also withdrew, citing player welfare concerns.
Pakistan is set to host the West Indies in three T20Is and three ODIs from December 13-22 between December 13-22. This will be West Indies’ first tour of Pakistan since April 2018 when they played three T20Is.
