Honda Cars India recorded monthly domestic sales of 7,973 units in December 2021. The export numbers for HCIL stood at 1,165 units in December 2021. The company had registered 8,638 units of domestic sales and 713 units of exports in December 2020, while domestic sales declined by 7.7 per cent. However, if you compare the December 2021 sales to November 2021, there is a growth of 15.48 per cent which shows a healthy growth for the company and pushes the sales growth to 26 per cent during the calendar year 2021.
The company sold 89,152 units during the calendar year 2021 (January-December). The company had recorded domestic sales of 70,593 units in calendar year 2020 amid operational restrictions to tackle the COVID-19 health crisis.

Honda’s exports grew 600 per cent during CY’2021 to 16,340 units as against 2,334 units in CY’2020
With its strong export strategy from India by adding a left hand drive destination to the 5th generation Honda City, HCIL Exports grew by 600 per cent with 16,340 units during CY’2021 as compared to 2,334 units exported in CY’2020.

Yuichi Murata, Director of Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The addition of new export destinations to the left-hand markets for Honda City has significantly increased our exports over the past year. “Our December dispatches were in line with our production output which continues to be impacted by global chip shortages.”
