The Cairns registered a total sales of 12,117 units since its launch in mid-February.

Kia had additional reason to celebrate with the company clocking 20 percent year-on-year growth in fiscal year despite the semiconductor shortage. The carmaker recorded sales of 1,86,787 units between April 2021 and March 2022. Seltos remained in the driver’s seat in terms of sales for the company in the financial year, contributing 51 per cent to total sales with Sonnet contributing 40 per cent to the cumulative figure. ,

The carmaker, however, has said that it is not completely out of the woods yet as the global semiconductor shortage is still a concern.

“We are still in the recovery phase, as semiconductor shortages remain a concern, which has impacted our planned production. However, we assure our customers that we are alert to trends globally and the waiting period Adequate measures are being taken to keep it under control.”
