Awareness program on labor laws organized at IIM-Vizag – Times of India

Visakhapatnam: As part of the celebration of ‘Celebrity Week’ under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, the Chief Labor Commissioner (Central), Hyderabad Region has organized awareness generation for workers and employers regarding compliance and responsibilities under various labor laws. and organized a program on sensitization. Kanoon’, at the IIM-Visakhapatnam permanent campus site in Gambhiram on Friday.

Regional Labor Commissioner (C), Visakhapatnam SK Mohanty coordinated the program and delivered an introductory speech highlighting the beneficial provisions under various labor laws.

Deputy CLC (C) Hyderabad, D Srinivasulu highlighted the rights of workers and responsibilities of employers. PN Singh and Abesh Mishra, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner and Assistant Provident Commissioner emphasized on the importance of the provisions of Social Security and Provident Fund respectively.

Joint Labor Commissioner, Government of Andhra Pradesh, M Rama Rao made the workers aware about the various welfare schemes available to them.

CGM (P&A), RINL Visakhapatnam, K Srinivasa Rao spoke about the role of employers in protecting the rights of workers.

GM (HR), HPCL Visakh Refinery, K Nagesh emphasized on the issues and rights of interstate workers under statutory and non-statutory provisions.

Arun Kumar, GM, Engineering, NBCC (Project Management Consultant), detailed the welfare measures for the workers at the workplace.

IIM-V Director Prof. M Chandrashekhar highlighted the well being and welfare measures being ensured at the permanent campus construction site of the Institute, the major employer.

Labor Enforcement Officer L Muralikrishna, Sunil Kumar Keerthi, and Head (Projects) IIM Visakhapatnam R Saikrishna Raju participated in the gathering. Around 300 workers participated in the programme.
