Mumbai: The MNS chief remained largely peaceful in the state of Maharashtra on Wednesday. Raj Thakreycall to play Hanuman Chalisa Azan was played in front of mosques through loudspeakers. Kandivali police registered an FIR against three MNS party workers for allegedly posting on social media a clip of Hanuman Chalisa being played on a loudspeaker along with azaan from a mosque. The clip was later removed.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey and senior officials have called a meeting of all the temple officials and urged them to apply for permission to use loudspeakers. Of the 2,404 temples in the city, only 12 have sought permission. Meanwhile, 739 mosques got permission for 773 mosques to be implemented in the city, an official said.
