Ayodhya Diwali Celebrations: PM Modi to launch ‘Deepotsav Mahotsav’ today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is all set to begin his visit to Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali 2022, will attend the ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations on Sunday after offering prayers to Lord Rama at the under-construction Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

During the Deepotsav festival, around 18 lakh earthen lamps will be lit today as part of Diwali celebrations, which will also include fireworks, a laser show and staging of Ramlilas.

Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Navdeep Rinwa said that more than 15 lakh earthen lamps will be lit by over 22,000 volunteers at Ram ki Paidi near Saryu Bank, PTI reported. The rest will be installed at important intersections and spots.

A large number of people gathered at Ram ki Paidi on Saturday evening to enjoy the Deepotsav, but the earthen lamps kept there did not burn. Volunteers were seen urging the crowd to watch their footsteps. With the dazzling Diwali scene of the Ram temple, many excited youngsters were busy talking in selfies and pictures.

The organizers of the Deepotsav told PTI that all volunteers have been instructed to put 256 earthen lamps in a square and maintain a distance of about two to three feet between two squares.

“A laser show, 3D projection mapping show, fireworks and Ramlila will also be staged by cultural troops from other countries and states. At Ram Katha Park, Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lord Lakshman and Lord Hanuman will be shown descending from a ‘Pushpak Vimana’,” Rinva told PTI.

He said that aarti of Saryu river would also be performed on this occasion.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote in Hindi on Twitter, “Shri Ayodhya ji is ready for a grand and divine Deepotsav. Welcome all of you. Jai Shri Ram.” He also tweeted the new logo of the event.

Ayurveda doctor RP Pandey said, “It seems that ‘Tretayug’ (the era of Lord Rama) has returned to Ayodhya. This Deepotsav is going to be more grand and memorable for us as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to attend the event.”

Lavkush Srivastava said, “Deepotsav is an occasion which is characterized by joy, enthusiasm and enthusiasm. People themselves are decorating the city using Rangolis.”

A look at PM Modi’s program in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya To perform ‘puja’ at the Ram temple on Sunday. According to a statement issued by his office on Saturday, he will also oversee the construction work of the Ram temple and later perform a symbolic coronation of the Lord.

At around 6.30 pm, the Prime Minister will witness an ‘aarti’ on the banks of the Saryu, after which the grand ‘Deepotsav’ ceremony will be inaugurated by him, the statement said.

Notably, this is the 6th edition of the Deepotsav Festival and it is the first time that the Prime Minister will personally participate in the celebrations.

Five animated tableaux and 11 Ramlila tableaux from different states will also be displayed during the Deepotsav.

Prime Minister Modi will also witness a 3-D holographic projection mapping show along with a grand musical laser show at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of the Saryu, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Elaborating on the security arrangements for the Deepotsav, Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Verma told PTI, “In all, 4,000 policemen will be on security and security duty for the event. Crowd management is a major priority, so that devotees, tourists and artists will be able to attend the festival.” doesn’t face any problem.” He said that traffic diversion has also been planned at various places in the city.
