Addressing a public meeting after the foundation of the University, laid by the Union Home Minister here Amit Shah On Saturday, Yogi said, ‘The vision of development of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the work of Union Home Minister Amit Shah have changed the image of Azamgarh. There is no doubt that this university will soon convert Azamgarh into Aryamgarh. This university will be operational from next academic session and students of 400 colleges of Azamgarh and Mau will get degree from here.
Mentioning that Azamgarh remains an area of ​​concern for him, Yogi recalled that there was a time in Azamgarh when people were killed for demanding to read Vande Mataram. But, can anyone here now show the courage to kill someone in public?
“In 2007, ABVP student leader Ajit Rai was murdered in front of the Shibli National College head office for demanding recitation of Vande Mataram on occasions like Republic Day. It took more than a month to register an FIR in this case,” Yogi said, mentioning how he too was attacked during his visit to Azamgarh.
Highlighting the achievements of his government on the law and order front, Yogi said, “Now nobody can commit such crimes here.”
Yogi said, “Those who used to harass girls and women know very well that they will be treated like Duryodhana and Dushasana of Mahabharata.”
