‘Bachchan Pandey’ sees decline as early Saturday estimates, while ‘The Kashmir Files’ remains strong at box office – Times of India

Akshay Kumar And Kriti Sanon Starrer’Bachchan Pandey‘ Which collected Rs 13 crore on the first day, saw a drop on Saturday and as per initial estimates the film collected in the net range of Rs 11 crore. Vivek Agnihotri‘s ‘The Kashmir FilesAs per the report of boxofficeindia.com, its estimated collection looks unstoppable as it jumps to a net range of Rs 24-25 crores.

The report further added that despite competition from ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘The Kashmir Files’ recorded its highest day collection on Saturday and is expected to have a bigger collection on Sunday. The film became the highest-grossing Hindi film in East Punjab after the pandemic.

‘The Kashmir Files’, which crossed Rs 100 crore worldwide in 7 days, is making headlines with reactions from all over. The film, which focuses on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s, has been embroiled in controversy as the BJP and the opposition parties have conflicting views on it. On one hand this film got the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and many others, on the other hand it is also being criticized for showing half truth. The Central Government has provided ‘Y’ category security to Director Vivek Agnihotri, who has CRPF cover all over India.

At the same time, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film ‘Veeram’. Akshay plays a gangster, while Kriti plays a journalist. The release of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ next week will further impact the film’s collections.
