Situated in the heart of the city, this Andhra Kitchen is situated in a comfortable location on the outskirts of Connaught Place. This family-friendly restaurant serves traditional Andhra cuisine to the food connoisseurs of Delhi NCR. The name of the restaurant, ‘Bagundi’, is good in Telugu and the aim of the restaurant is to serve Andhra food in its most authentic form. So, if you are curious about the taste of Andhra cuisine, you need not cross the city limits, just drive up to Bagundi and peruse their delicious menu.

The restaurant has created a special winter menu which is based on the seasonal flavors of Andhra Pradesh. We started with Gunter Idli and Chicken 65 for appetizers. Gunter idli is a soft and large idli covered with a red spicy powder called podi. Idli is soft and spicy, which makes it a delicious snack to warm yourself in winters. Chicken 65 Another spicy snack straight out of Andhra cuisine, this chicken dish is known to be hot and spicy!

For the main course, we went for Gongura Chicken, Chicken Chettinad, Andhra Dal Fry and Andhra Mutton Curry. Gongura Chicken is a traditional chicken curry from Andhra, Gongura leaves are pungent, which give a pungent and spicy kick to the chicken. Chicken Chettinad has a rich taste of coconut and curd, which makes it great with rice. People who are fans of lentils will love Andhra Dal Fry for its earthy and spicy taste. Andhra Mutton Curry has a spicy coconut gravy that enhances the meat. Lastly, for dessert, go for the traditional South Indian Kesari Bhaat, a sweet and velvety pudding made from semolina.
