Bajaj Auto wants to sell Chetak from 75 locations in the current fiscal – Times of India

Bajaj Auto revives the iconic ‘Chetak‘ nameplate with the introduction of a brand new all-electric scooter in October 2019, and Electric Two-Wheeler Has hit the market. To meet the demand, Bajaj plans to ramp up the sales infrastructure for the model at 75 locations across the country this financial year.
In its annual report for 2021-22, the company said, “Looking at the enthusiastic demand for this iconic model, the company has increased the touchpoints by 20 locations in FY22. It is expected to grow to 75 in FY2023.” ”
Initially, Bajaj was offering the Chetak from only two locations – Pune and Bangalore. However, the booking had to be stopped in early 2020 due to the pandemic. Bajaj says that when bookings resumed on April 13, 2021, they had to stop taking new bookings after just 48 hours due to huge demand.
Bajaj says that it sold 8,187 units of the e-scooter during the last financial year. “We are committed to the development of electric vehicles (EVs). Chetak is the first example. The establishment of Chetak Technology Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bajaj Auto will assist in the research, development, production and sales of EVs.” The company said.
Talking about the global semiconductor chip shortage, Bajaj Auto President Neeraj Bajaj said that the issue is expected to impact the company’s production volumes. “It’s hard to predict when this supply crunch will end. But until then, it will constrain your company’s production volumes, as it will for all other automobile manufacturers. R&D to create alternative configurations and work as soon as possible.” It is working hard to make these homogeneous,” Bajaj said.
