They are being fed nutritious food, glucose and vitamin D capsules apart from regular diet during summers. “We are also giving soft coconut water to the dogs twice a day and cold water has been kept in their rooms to keep their bodies cool,” Sardar said.
Bellary SP Saidulu Adavath said the dog squad is most important for detecting crimes and locating explosives during VIP and VVIP agitations. These dogs have committed over 1,000 crimes such as theft, murder and dacoity in the undivided Ballari district. We have limited dogs’ outdoor activities to early morning and evening to avoid the hottest part of the day.”
