“Any contravention of these directions shall be liable to prosecution under the provisions of sections 5l to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, sections 188 of the IPC and sections 4, 5 and 10 of the Karnataka Epidemic Diseases Act 2020,” a circular issued from the city said. However, hotels, pubs and restaurants have been kept out of the purview of the ban.
Recovering from the pandemic-induced lockdown and restrictions, they are calling for the lifting of the night curfew.
Only on Friday, the government allowed cinemas to 100% audience capacity and pubs to function normally.
