Bangalore University B.Com students scored 103/100. Bengaluru News – Times of India

Bangalore: When Bangalore University released the results of Bachelor of Commerce Professionally, many students were upset to see their provisional exam marksheets: they got more marks than the prescribed limit.
B.Com Students appeared for their semester exams in April/May 2021. Many students scored more than 102 out of 100. Theory paper, for travel agency and tour operator organization, was of 70 marks for written test and 30 for internal. One. Many have been awarded more than 72 points.
“I was really surprised to see my result. In one subject, I got 102 marks out of 100. I don’t understand why the university didn’t check before declaring the result. In other subjects my marks are not so good, But many are given full marks. This needs to be fixed,” said a student of a private college.
Another student of a private college was given eight marks in corporate accounting, six in financial management, three in quantitative analysis and business judgment and 72 out of 70 in travel agency and tour operator organisation.
“The problem occurred because the students did not read the instructions given in the question paper. There were two types of students who took the exam – regular and those who were attempting it as a one-time measure. Of CBCS (Choice-Based) Regular students following the credit system) scheme had to answer only sections A, B and C and their exam was out of 70 marks. For others, it was 100 marks and they had to answer sections A, B, C, D and E. Many regular students did not read the instructions and wrote all the sections. In digital assessment, all the answered questions were checked and marks were awarded to the students. So, few regular students attempted all the questions. Scored more than the maximum marks,” said JT Devaraj, Registrar (Evaluation), Bangalore University.
“Now, it is a difficult task for us to go back and check the paper of each student to understand whether they were writing the exam for 70 or 100 marks. We will fix it all. We checked with it. Of Examination Board Speaker on why there was only one question paper for both the categories. We have been told that this was because there was no change in the curriculum.”
When many students could not even cross a single mark in all the subjects, they scored more than the maximum number allotted in this paper.
