Students of different states in Regency College of Hotel Management celebrated Bathukamma, the flower festival of Telangana in splendid costumes.
The atmosphere was lively as students from across the country picked up on the nuances of making Bathukamma, which is believed to symbolize the beauty and eternal glory of Goddess Gauri, and played around her, singing the Bathukamma song, which is unique to Telangana culture. .
P. Ramesh Kumar Reddy, principal of the college said, “The festival is celebrated to make the students aware about the culture, tradition and authenticity of the food.”
Since flowers, colors and festivities are an integral part of this festival, the girl students also wore the traditional ‘Langa Oni’ and adorned themselves with gold ornaments.
a special dessert called maleda Jaggery was made for this festival and distributed among the students. The guests who witnessed the event commended the students and teachers for honing togetherness, passion for creativity, spirit of team building, learning and hospitality awareness through the festival.
