BCCI hikes prize money for domestic tournaments, check details here

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced an increase in prize money for domestic tournaments on 16 April, with Ranji Trophy winners getting a whopping cash prize of Rs 2000. 5 crores this year.

As per the new salary structure, Ranji Trophy winners will get 5 crores from this year. at the moment they get a check 2 crores.

In addition, the runner-up and semi-finalist of the Ranji Trophy will get 3 crore more 1 crore respectively.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet, “I am happy to announce the increase in prize money for all domestic tournaments of BCCI.”

“We will continue our efforts to invest in domestic cricket – the backbone of Indian cricket. To get Ranji winners 5 Crore (from 2 Crore), Senior Women Winner 50 lakh (from 6 lakh),” the tweet added.

Among other things, the cash prize for the Irani Cup has also been doubled. now the winners will get 50 lakhs instead of 25 lakhs, and while the team that finishes runner-up does not get any cash prize at present, they will get 25 lakhs.

Champions will be found for Duleep Trophy One crore and the runner-up team will get 50 lakhs, while the winners of the Vijay Hazare Trophy will now get cheques. 1 crore and the team finished second 50 lakhs.

Deodhar Trophy winners set to get richer 40 lakhs and the losing finalist will get 2 million. Similarly, a check will be given to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy champion. 80 lakhs and the losing team will get 40 lakhs.

In a big boost to women’s cricket in the country, winners of the Senior Women’s ODI Trophy will receive a cheque. 50 lakhs and the runners-up side will receive 25 lakhs.

The prize money for the winners of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy has also been increased. 40 lakhs, eight times more than what they get now. the losing team will get 2 million.

The 2023-24 domestic season will begin with the Duleep Trophy tournament from June 28, while the flagship Ranji Trophy will start from January 5 next year.

Duleep Trophy, which will be played between six zonal teams, followed by Deodhar Trophy (List A) (July 24 to August 3), Irani Cup (October 1-5), Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Men’s T20 National Championship (October). 16-Nov 6) and Vijay Hazare Trophy (Nov 23-Dec 15).

The senior women’s season will begin with the National T20 Championship to be played from October 19 to November 9, followed by the Inter Zonal T20 Trophy from November 24 to December 4.

After this, the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy will be played from January 4 to 26.
