BCCI to organize Ranji Trophy 2022 season from 16 February to 5 March

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to stage the Ranji Trophy 2022 from February 16 to March 5. India Today understands that the governing team has given this date and the board is focusing on low-risk state associations where they can host matches.

Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Cuttack are the probable venues for the elite group matches. This time eight groups of four teams each will be involved, in which 6 team plate group matches are going to be held simultaneously.

BCCI made the announcement after its Apex Council meeting in January Ranji Trophy postponed After rescheduling the start of the tournament several times in the wake of rising Covid-19 cases in the country.

However, pressure was mounting on the board players expressed concern On the possibility of cancellation of Ranji Trophy for the second consecutive season.
