Bengal government partners with edtech startups to promote digital learning among school children

In a unique initiative, the Government of West Bengal and Schoolnet, an edtech start-up, have announced a strategic partnership to promote digital learning and run various career development programs in the state. A joint venture between SchoolNet and the Government of West Bengal will assist students from government-aided schools across the state.

Students from class 5 to class 10 will get online education through Bangla Shiksha, the official website of the education department of the state. The students will be able to access the online geno eSekha portal through the education website of the state. This portal also provides education in Bangla language.

The digital education portal is developed following the syllabus of the primary and secondary boards of the Government of West Bengal. This digital learning platform covers subjects such as English, Science, Maths, and English, Maths, Physics, Life Science, History and Geography for class 5 to 6 students and for class 9 to 10 students.

Digital learning platform Geneo eSekha has been launched in a joint venture between the Government of West Bengal and Schoolnet. Through this portal, students will get various types of help online. Proper education on various subjects, solving the problems of the students in any subject, applying the best method is to take the students forward. There is also unique career guidance, counseling solution for the students of class 6 to class 11.

According to the National Education Policy 2020, counseling sessions have been arranged for the students in the digital learning platform. Experienced counselors have also been made available to empower the students physically and mentally.

The main objective of this platform is to strengthen the learning foundation of a student. Schoolnet vice-president Gautam Maiti said, “With the support of the Government of West Bengal, we aim to set up all the students in the state.”
