Bengaluru-based startup Pravig will supply batteries for European forces

Bengaluru-based startup Pravig has won an order to provide compact energy storage to European combat forces. Pravig said in a statement that the Made in India tactical batteries will power the equipment used by European combat forces.

M2M Factory and AMG Pro jointly, which are major distributors of defense and energy equipment to the European Armed Forces with over 90 brands such as Under Armour, Defcon, Casio, Magnum, Leatherman, are now manufacturing tactical batteries in India with Pravig. Huh.

The Pravig Field Pack will be supplied to the defense manufacturer, the company statement read.

“These batteries are designed, engineered and manufactured in India. This supply marks a major change in India’s defense landscape. From users to developers, from importers to exporters, India’s high technology defense industry is in reversal. There is an important point. A few years ago this was considered impossible,” Pravag CEO Siddhartha Bagri said in the statement.

The modern soldier is a cyborg just like a human, with electronics being a major part of their equipment.

Pravig’s field pack provides enough power to charge modern soldiers and their equipment 60 times the equivalent of a MacBook, the statement said.

“We showed Pravag the difficulties soldiers face in desert, snow, urban and jungle environments, and they have come up with an amazing solution to solve energy needs. We will be showcasing the Pravag field pack at Eurosatory, which The largest defense exhibition is Europe,” said David Amselm, CEO of AMG Pro.

“Pravig took this solution from concept to manufacturing within 60 days, which was unheard of in the global defense industry,” said Jeremy Caron, director of M2M Factory.

Lightweight, robust and waterproof batteries open up immense opportunities for activating personal devices, deploying remote sensors and communications relays in the field, and hibernating and activating significantly larger devices remotely.
