Beware! IT dept warns against fraudulent job offers, follow SSC website

The Income Tax Department on Tuesday cautioned the public against falling prey to fraudulent job offers and said candidates should consider offers or advertisements only on the official websites of SSC or the department.

“The Income Tax Department cautions the public not to fall prey to fraudulent persons who mislead job aspirants by issuing fake appointment letters to join the department,” the department tweeted.

The Income Tax Department said that it has come to its notice that some fake persons are misleading the candidates by issuing fake appointment letters to join the Income Tax Department.

It said that direct recruitment to all Group B and C posts is done by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and the notification/results are made available on the SSC website.

Thereafter, the regional allotment of the candidate is done and the list is uploaded on the portal of the IT department.

“General public is cautioned/advised against taking cognizance of such fake advertisement/notification/appointment letter advertised/disseminated through any platform/portal other than the official websites of SSC and Income Tax Department,” said the public notice.
