Bharat Jodi Yatra: Congress’s massive rally planned in Ballari | Hubli News – Times of India

Ballari: The Bharti couple tripled by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, will pass through Karnataka for 21 days from Gundlupet to Raichur. The only public rally in the state as part of Travel It will be held in Ballari.
Congress leaders have taken the rally seriously and KPCC is planning to bring at least two lakh people to the rally. They have already organized several meetings and the venue for the event in Ballari needs to be finalised. This is the second padyatra of Congress in Ballari. In 2012, Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah successfully took out a rally here and later came to power in the state.
According to KPCC sources, the Bharat Jodi Yatra is scheduled to reach Ballari on October 19 and the rally will stop here. Next day Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting. AICC leaders will also interact with local artists, lawyers, teachers, writers, students, women and youth. Congress leaders in the state have high hopes from the yatra as the assembly elections are just six months away.
“Rahul Gandhi especially wanted Bellary on his route of travel as it was the constituency that gave political life to his mother and AICC in-charge president Sonia Gandhi. Party workers in Ballari, Vijayanagar, Koppal and adjoining districts worked hard. And make the rally a success,” appealed KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
KPCC working president Salim Ahmed said, “We have held meetings with MLAs from Bellary and adjoining districts to prepare for the rally. The program will have a glimpse of Kannada elements. The yatra is being undertaken to highlight five issues. – Harmonious society, women empowerment, unemployment, corruption free governance, and good life for farmers and laborers. We will listen to their plight, we want to know their point of view.”
