Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through Haryana’s Karnal district on Saturday with a large number of people including Olympic medalist boxer Vijender Singh and senior party leaders Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Randeep Singh Surjewala joining the march led by Rahul Gandhi.

Despite the bitter cold and fog, a huge crowd turned up in Karnal to welcome the Bharat Jodo Yatra, a day after a big rally in Panipat. As soon as the journey started from Kohand village of Gharaunda here, Gandhi shook hands with the people and posed for photographs with the children. He also met a delegation of the OBC community and held discussions with them.

The Kanyakumari to Kashmir march covered a distance of over 130 km via Nuh, Gurugram and Faridabad districts in its first leg in Haryana from December 21 to 23. It entered Haryana from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening.

The yatra, which began on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, will end on January 30 with Gandhi unfurling the national flag in Srinagar. The march has so far covered Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh. , Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
