Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the maker of BharatBenz trucks and buses, has unveiled its new customized Caravan for the Kerala tourism department. The ready-for-road camper van, manufactured in association with Autobahn Trucking Dealership and JCBL Group, will be used for Keeravan Kerala, the latest Kerala initiative. As part of the new initiative, the Kerala Tourism Department wants to encourage camping culture in the state in line with the post-pandemic travel preferences of tourists. Thus, the department has chosen with BharatBenz to manufacture the luxury camper caravan, which comes with several built-in features, and can be hired by tourists.

The luxury caravan comes with all modern amenities like recliner seats, a television, a kitchen area and comfortable double bunk beds.

The luxury caravans are built on BharatBenz’s 1017 chassis and will be available in two configurations, adapted to accommodate two to four passengers. Exclusive creature comforts on offer include a spacious lounge area and modern amenities such as recliner seats and a television. It also has a kitchen area which is equipped with all the necessary appliances like refrigerator, microwave, induction cooktop and custom-built storage for tableware. The fully air-conditioned caravan also comes with comfortable double bunk beds in the bedrooms and a restroom with shower.

The BharatBenz 1017 is claimed to offer a comfortable and safe ride thanks to its parabolic suspension as well as the fuel-efficient BS6 engine. The ‘Bus Chassis’ is manufactured at DICV’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Oragadam.
