Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced the acquisition of a strategic stake in blockchain technology startup Achilles.
Singapore-based Achilles has developed Atom, a patented hybrid blockchain platform, that integrates differential privacy and federated learning on a distributed digital ledger, Airtel said in a statement.
This allows brands to build secure and consent-based solutions to engage with customers in a rapidly evolving digital economy, which is becoming increasingly decentralized, it said.
Bharti Airtel shares were trading with a fall of 3.28% in this morning’s deals 681.30 each on NSE.
Airtel aims to deploy Achilles’ blockchain technologies extensively across its rapidly growing adtech (Airtel Ads), digital entertainment (Wink Music and Airtel Xstream) and digital marketplace (Airtel Thanks App) offerings.
