Bhopal News: Mystery of death of MP engineering student after chilling text | Bhopal News – Times of India

Bhopal: An engineering student from Bhopal but was found cut in two railway tracks Sunday evening in nearby Raisen.
Police suspect suicide, but what makes the incident mysterious is that victim Nishank Rathore’s father got the message from his phone just before that. Death: “Rathore sahib your son was very brave… Only one instrument of Gustakh-e-Nabi, separated from the body.”
After a detailed investigation, which included checking of train timings, CCTV footage and preliminary autopsy, police believe that Nishant died by suicide.
However, his father, Umashankar Rathore, a government employee, does not believe that Nishank will kill himself. The 21-year-old was in his fifth semester at an engineering college in Bhopal. He was a native of Seoni-Malwa tehsil in Narmadapuram.

He was a native of Seonimalwa tehsil in Narmadapuram, about 120 km from Bhopal, and had come to the state capital for his BE degree.
On Sunday, Nishank took a scooter on rent in Bhopal and was driving towards Narmadapuram, but seemed to have changed his mind and headed back to the city, police said after reviewing CCTV footage. His body was found near Midghat railway station in Raisen district, between Bhopal and Seoni-Malwa just after 6 pm.
Minutes before his death, his father received a chilling message. “Around 5.44 pm, I received a message on WhatsApp from Nishank’s number. It was not a forwarded message but a typed message,” Rathore, who is posted as auditor in the cooperative department in Harda district, told TOI.
He had spoken to her earlier in the day. “Nishank’s elder sister had gone to Bhopal. I spoke to him around noon and told him to go and meet him. The way he sounded, I asked if he was still sleeping for so long and he said no,” Rathore said.
There was no contact with the college goer till 5.44 pm on Sunday, when Rathore received a call and message from Nishank’s number. “I could not pick up his call as I was on another call. When I called back, there was no response from him,” he said.
Asked if Nishank was under any kind of anxiety, he said: “He never shared anything about any tension. Moreover, he was not much bothered about these issues. I can’t believe it was suicide, and have told the police this very clearly. There were no marks of injury on his face or upper back. Only one leg was amputated,” he said.
Raisen Additional SP Amrit Meena told TOI that a post on Nishank’s Instagram was shared at the same time his father received a WhatsApp message, with the same lines and one of his old pictures.
“His friends were also replied at 5.48 pm. At around 6.05 pm, the GT Express crossed the road where his body was found. He probably died under the same train. The Sai Nath Express went down the second line a few minutes later and the loco pilot reported seeing the body on the track at 6.13 pm,” Meena said.
The ASP said that Nishank had no injury above his waist and the lower half of his body was cut off by the train. “In the autopsy, the doctors have given a clear opinion that he died after being hit by a train. We checked CCTV footage of roads, such as near Bagh Sevaniya intersection in Bhopal and other places where he is seen going alone. He parked his scooter on the main road and went on the track. When she parked the scooty, she turned towards Bhopal. Perhaps, he was going to Narmadapuram and then changed his mind and was returning to Bhopal,” he said.
He said investigators will record the statements of all his relatives and friends. A police officer, who asked not to be named, said he had received some information about cryptocurrency losses, which Nishank apparently did. “The exact figure is not yet known,” he said.
