Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Applications are invited for admission to Junior Part Time Diploma Courses in the Faculty of Performing Arts. Interested candidates can apply offline for Music, Instrumental and Dance programmes. Students have to visit the university to receive the application form between 12 noon to 4 pm on all working dates from 7th October onwards.
Interested candidates are required to submit the duly filled application form along with all necessary documents to the university before the last date of application, which is 26 October. Candidates are expected to follow all necessary COVID-19 protocols such as wearing of masks, social distancing while visiting the college for the application process.
BHU Diploma in Performing Arts: Eligibility Criteria
The essential criterion for admission to these courses is to pass class 10 board examination or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. However, the criteria for SC and ST candidates need to qualify class 10 exam only.
BHU Diploma in Performing Arts: Course Details
The Faculty of Performing Arts offers part-time diploma courses in the streams of Tabla, Sitar, Flute, Violin, Mridangam, Hindustani Vocal, Carnatic Vocal, Bharatanatyam Dance and Kathak Dance.
The duration of these part-time diploma courses is three years. Students joining these courses will receive a junior certificate at the end of the first year, a senior certificate at the end of the second year and a diploma upon successful completion of all three years.
BHU Diploma in Performing Arts: Selection Process
The candidates applying for the courses will have to appear in an online entrance qualifying test starting from November 8. Candidates can visit the official website of BHU bhu.ac.in and contact the university for any query.
Apart from the part-time diploma courses, BHU also offers Bachelor’s degree in Music in Vocal and Instrumental Sitar, Tabla, Flute and Violin. Additionally, there is a Master in Music (MMus.) and Doctor of Music (DMus.) course in the same discipline.
