Form of words:

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing power struggle in the ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday met Rahul Gandhi at his residence for the second time this week.

Baghel arrived here from Raipur and reached Gandhi’s Tughlaq Lane residence at around 4 pm for the meeting, which also included AICC in-charge of Chhattisgarh PL Punia.

This is the second meeting of the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister with Gandhi this week as the two had met earlier on Tuesday. Gandhi had also separately met Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singh Deo on Tuesday.

Both Baghel and Dev had also met AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal on Wednesday, amid differences of leaders from the two state leaders seeking change of leadership by Deo.

Dev has caused trouble in the Chhattisgarh Congress after the party came to power in the 2018 assembly elections, citing the power-sharing pact over the power-sharing pact.

Meanwhile, several MLAs, including several ministers, camped in the national capital since Thursday in Chhattisgarh, in a show of strength in support of the chief minister.

The ministers and MLAs met AICC in-charge PL Punia at his residence and are understood to have put their importance behind Baghel, saying the state government was providing good governance under the incumbent chief minister.
