Washington: US President Joe Biden will travel to South Korea and Japan next month and will attend the Quad Summit in Tokyo, during which he will also meet the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modiwere white House Said.
Biden’s visit to South Korea and Japan has been scheduled for May 20 to 24.
“The visit will advance the Biden-Harris administration’s solid commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific region,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said here on Wednesday.
Biden will also hold bilateral meetings with South Korean President Eun Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
“The leaders will discuss opportunities to deepen our important security ties, enhance economic ties and expand our close cooperation to deliver practical results. In Tokyo, President Biden Will also meet leaders of the Quad Grouping from Australia, Japan, India and the United States. We look forward to sharing more details about this visit soon,” Saki said.
