Bigg Boss 16: Ali Fazal demands removal of MeToo accused Sajid Khan from the show

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]October 19 (ANI): Actor Ali Fazal has become the latest celebrity to express his disappointment over the participation of MeToo accused Sajid Khan in Salman Khan-hosted show ‘Bigg Boss 16’.

Ali recently re-shared a post on Instagram demanding filmmaker Sajid’s removal from the reality show.

In the original post shared by an artist, Smish Designs, the lighter hand can be seen lighting the poster of Sajid Khan from Big Big 16. The poster was captioned as, “Now take out Sajid Khan from Bigg Boss!”

Sajid was embroiled in the #MeToo controversy in 2018, when nine women from the industry – who worked with Khan on his various projects – accused the filmmaker of sexual harassment. Actresses like Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Aahana Kumra and Mandana Karimi had leveled allegations against him.

Colors TV’s decision to bring Sajid into the Bigg Boss house has been criticized by many including singer Sona Mohapatra, who claimed that she faced harassment at the hands of music composer Anu Malik.

“This is #SajidKhan, who is now on a reality TV show. Then Anu Malik is judging a music reality show on TV, no less for children. #KailashKher? Celebrity judge on TV. Many women in @IndiaMeToo called everyone out. Indian TV channels, officials are really corrupt and sad,” she had tweeted.

After facing allegations, Sajid, in 2018, decided to take the ‘moral responsibility of stepping down’ from his directorial position of ‘Housefull 4’. The director’s responsibility was handed over to filmmaker Farhad Samji. He also said that he took the decision because “pressure” was being put on his family.

Now it remains to be seen whether Colors TV will remove Sajid from the show or not. (ANI)
