PATNA: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently under home isolation as per doctors’ advice, his office said here on Tuesday.
This is the second time the 71-year-old has tested positive for Covid-19 this year. Earlier, he tested positive for COVID in January this year with mild symptoms and remained in home isolation.
According to the statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Tuesday morning, Nitish was running ill for the last two-three days. He got tested for Covid-19 on Monday, in which he tested positive for the virus.
The CMO further said that Nitish is currently in home isolation and doctors have advised him to take rest. The Chief Minister has advised people who came in contact with him in the last two-three days to get tested for Kovid.
Sources claimed that it was due to his ill health that CM Nitish could not attend the swearing-in ceremony of President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Monday. He also did not participate in any official program of the state government here.
