Bihar couple gifted helmets to wedding guests to raise awareness on road safety

The couple presented helmets to 21 guests.

The bride, a resident of Saran district, had lost her uncle in a road accident four years ago.

A couple from Bihar gifted helmets to 21 people before tying the knot to raise awareness about road safety. Dainik Jagran reported that Vikas Mishra and Baby Kumari of Saran district showed their commitment towards safe driving and safety with this unique gesture. However, there was a big reason behind this decision. The bride had lost her uncle in a road accident four years ago and has vowed to gift helmets to the wedding guests after the accident. The couple also said that they were inspired by Delhi’s Sandeep Shahi, who is popularly known as Helmet Man. Delhi Police constable Shahi made headlines when he started giving helmets to traffic violators.
Vikas told Dainik Bhaskar: “As human beings, it is our duty to protect the life that nature has given us. My wife and I have decided to support to make roads accident free for the rest of my life.”
In 2019, Sandeep Shahi had gone viral for his message on wearing a helmet after his wife was seriously injured in a road accident. He coined the message that struck a chord among the youth: “Agar helmet nahi lagga to tera time aayega” (If you don’t wear a helmet, you will have a bad time on the streets).
Four years ago, another bride from Saran district, Sweety, presented helmets to guests to raise awareness about road safety. He too had lost a relative (his aunt) in a road accident. In 2017, a couple from Karnataka distributed 100 helmets and 1000 saplings among the guests.
