Patna: RJD chief Lalu PrasadThe person who held a meeting with party MLAs and senior leaders on Tuesday asked them to put forth their views firmly in the all-party meeting on the caste census to be held on Wednesday.
He also stressed on the need to boost the party’s membership drive and that an assembly constituency should have at least 40,000 members and a panchayat should have a minimum of 1,200 members.
Meanwhile, the National Chief Electoral Officer of the RJD, Shine Narayan Choudhary told reporters after the meeting that the party has authorized Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to take necessary decisions to take the party forward.
Lalu had called a meeting at the 10 Circular Road bungalow allotted to his wife. Rabri Devi, All the MLAs and senior RJD leaders were present. Lalu’s elder son and Hasanpur MLA Earlier, Tej Pratap, who had stayed away from such meetings on several occasions, was seen sitting next to his father on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the RJD put up a poster outside its office on Tuesday taking a jibe at the completion of eight years of the NDA government at the Centre.
The poster had a caricature of PM Narendra Modi and reminded people of the various unfulfilled promises made by the government as well as the privatization of several PSUs.
RJD state spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan said, “The government did the exact opposite of the promises made before the elections. They had promised two crore employment opportunities, but crores of youth have lost their jobs. The unemployment rate is among the highest in the country. Is more. .”
