bihar migrant fake video: Acting on migrant atrocities fake video, Tamil Nadu Police on Saturday made another arrest from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur – about 70 km from state capital Patna. According to officials, the accused has been identified as Upendra Sahni. Notably, this was the second arrest after Manish Kashyap, a famous YouTuber, who surrendered amid a massive search by the Bihar Police.
According to officials, these people were involved in making fake videos in which they allegedly brutalized migrant laborers from Bihar in Tamil Nadu.
Earlier, Tamil Nadu Public Sector Secretary D Jagannathan termed reports of alleged attacks on North Indian migrant laborers in the southern state as “false propaganda” to hamper the state’s ties with Bihar.
Jagannathan also held a consultation meeting with the state officials regarding the matter. A Chitradevi, senior inspector of Tamil Nadu’s cybercrime police station, along with her team reached Muzaffarpur on Saturday and arrested the accused.
Upendra will be taken to Tamil Nadu
An official statement said that after being produced before the court, Upendra would be taken to Tamil Nadu on transit remand. Inspector Manoj Shah of Sadar police station said, “A youth named Upendra Sahni has been arrested from Sadar police station area. He has been arrested in connection with the Tamil Nadu video viral case.”
Speaking to the media, Jagannathan had said, “Northern state workers are working in Tamil Nadu in good condition. We are providing adequate assistance to them from Tamil Nadu’s side.” Highlighting the viral video of laborers from Bihar, Tamil Nadu Jagannathan said, ‘This false propaganda is being done to disrupt relations between the two states without citing the intelligence agency.’

“Officials of the Government of Bihar also personally met the representatives of the Bihar Association and sought their views. Members of trade associations, hotels and trade unions also participated in this consultation meeting and gave their views.”
IAS Balamurugan, Secretary, Bihar State Rural Development Department, also thanked the Tamil Nadu government for the cooperation. Balamurugan said, “We are grateful to the Tamil Nadu government. We also spoke to workers from Bihar working in Tamil Nadu over phone. The Tamil Nadu government is providing full cooperation to dispel the belief that the fake videos are authentic.”
