The Bihar Board has also declared a reward of Rs 25,000 for unmarried female students.

The BSEB is set to honour outstanding students achieving top positions in both Inter and Matriculation exams during the Medha Diwas Celebration 2023.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) plans to honour the students who achieve top positions in both Inter and Matriculation exams, acknowledging their excellence in financial, physical, and mental aspects. This celebration is scheduled for December 3 on the occasion of Medha Diwas, coinciding with the birth anniversary of India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad. The Medha Diwas Celebration 2023 event will specifically honour 120 outstanding students who excelled in the Inter and Matriculation exams of the year 2023.

The recognised students comprise 9 individuals in the top 6 of the Inter-Science category, 13 in the top 6 of Commerce, and 8 in the top 6 of Arts. Simultaneously, 90 students have secured positions in the top 10 in the matriculation exams. The Bihar School Examination Board will acknowledge the overall top 10 in Matriculation across the state and those in the top 6 in all three streams of Inter.

Additionally, students securing the 4th to 10th positions will also be recognized. The student securing the first position in Inter (Commerce, Arts, and Science) and Matriculation annual exams will receive a reward of Rs 1 lakh each, while those securing the second position will be awarded Rs 75,000 each. On the other hand, the third-position achievers will receive Rs 50,000 each.

Each awardee will also receive a laptop, Kindle e-book reader, citation, and medal. Furthermore, students ranking fourth and sixth in the Inter Annual Examination, 2023, will be presented with Rs 15,000 each, along with a citation, medal, and laptop. Similarly, students securing the 4th to 10th positions in the Matriculation Annual Examination 2023 will receive Rs 10,000 each, along with a citation, medal, and laptop.

The Examination Committee will also recognise District Officers and District Education Officers from across the state who have made significant contributions to the successful conduct of the Inter and Matriculation Annual Examination in 2023. The ceremony will be attended by officials from the education department, board, and other dignitaries.

The Bihar Board has also declared a reward of Rs 25,000 for unmarried female students who have successfully cleared the BSEB Inter exam 2023. Additionally, there will be a mentoring program for the top performers in the Bihar Board Class 12 exams of 2023.

This academic year witnessed girls securing the top positions across all three streams – arts, science, and commerce – in the Bihar Board Class 12 examinations. Ayushi Nandan emerged as the topper in the science stream with a score of 474 marks, Mohaddesa claimed the first position in the arts stream with 475 marks, and Soumya Sharma and Rajnish Kumar Pathak jointly secured the top spot in the commerce stream, each scoring 475 marks. The overall pass percentage for all three streams—science, commerce, and arts—is reported at 83.70%.

A total of 13,04,586 students, comprising 6,36,432 females and 6,81,795 males, participated in the Bihar Board Class 12 exams 2023, held from February 1 to February 11.
