Bihar University mistakenly gives 151 marks out of 100, promotes students with 0 also

University registrar Mushtaq Ahmed said that there was a typing error in both the marksheets.

A graduate student of the Government Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, scoring 151 out of 100 in a paper, took him by surprise. He said on Sunday that the BA (Hons) student secured marks in his Political Science paper-IV in the part-II examination of the university.

“I was really surprised to see the result. Though it was a provisional marksheet, the authorities should have checked it before releasing the result,” he said. Another student, who appeared in the Accounting and Finance paper in his B.Com Part-II examination – Got zero in 4, was promoted to the next class.

“The university accepted that it was a typing error and issued me a revised marksheet,” he said. University registrar Mushtaq Ahmed said.

University registrar Mushtaq Ahmed told PTI that there were typing mistakes in both the marksheets. “After correcting the typographical errors, new mark sheets were issued to two students. They were just typographic errors, nothing more,” he said.
