Bihar’s most wanted gangster arrested in Delhi: Police | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: In a joint operation with Bihar Police, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a most wanted gangster from the eastern state here, officials said on Saturday.
He said that the accused has been identified as Azad Ali (43), a resident of Siwan district of Bihar.
The city police received information that a gangster from Bihar, wanted in a sensational firing during the Legislative Council elections in the state, is hiding in Delhi-NCR.
On Friday, the police had received information that Ali would come to meet a colleague at a place near Ring Road in Rajghat. A joint team was deployed and around 11:15 pm, Ali was spotted and caught after a brief scuffle, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell). Jasmeet Singh said.
A pistol and three live cartridges have been recovered from his possession, the police said. Ali was wanted in a case of firing in Siwan on April 4.

Alam allegedly planned and plotted the attack with Osama, Ali and their other associates in a conspiracy. Alam and Rahis – two history-sheeters of Siwan – had a rivalry. Police said Alam had the support of Osama, son of the deceased gangster Shahabuddin.
He said that Rahis had contested for the membership of the Legislative Council of Bihar, but was defeated.
Ali was involved in two murder cases in Bihar and six criminal cases including attempt to murder, dacoity, Arms Act, kidnapping for ransom, assault, hurt, intimidation etc.
