A mass rally was taken out by BJD in Lochpara and Nimakhandi and other panchayats of Kukudakhandi block with stage artists.
Many BJD leaders including the party Ganjam District Speaker Ramesh Chandra Chaupatnik, Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda and women leaders attended the rally.
Around 20 artists from Bhubaneswar performed street dance in the tribal dominated Gajapati district.
“Through their performances, the artists spread the message of the various development works done by the Naveen Patnaik government. He also appealed to voters to cast their votes in favor of BJD candidates,” said BJD’s Gajapati district unit president Pradeep Nayak. Earlier, Pinky Pradhan, who had contested the assembly elections on a BJP ticket from Digpahandi in Ganjam district, campaigned for her party’s candidates in Sanakhemundi block.
In Ganjam district, polling will be held on Wednesday in a total of 116 panchayats in five blocks – Hinjili, Sheragada, Digpahandi, Rangilunda and Polasara.
