BJP crosses half the figure in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh Election Result 2022: BJP has crossed the half mark Uttar Pradesh Far ahead of its rival Samajwadi Party in the initial round of counting of votes in Uttar Pradesh.

These include Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Gorakhpur, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav from Karhal, Shivpal Yadav from Jaswant Nagar and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya from Sirathu.

Counting of votes for 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh began on Thursday morning with three-tier security arrangements and cameras installed at all counting centres.

In the initial round, the counting of postal ballots took place.

As per the initial trends available from 215 constituencies, BJP is leading in 110 seats and SP in 95 seats.

BSP and Congress are leading in five and four seats respectively. Jansatta Dal candidate Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya is leading from Kunda seat.

All exit polls have predicted victory for BJP in the state.

According to official polling data available for 82 seats, BJP is leading in 48 seats, while SP is leading in 24, Apna Dal on four and RLD and Congress in two seats each.
