BJP flags off first ‘Tiranga Bikers Rally’ from Lal Chowk in Kashmir

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday flagged off the first ‘Tiranga Bike Rally’ from Lal Chowk in Srinagar, once considered a separatist stronghold. The rally was organized to pay tribute to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the Kargil War of 1999.

Amidst unprecedented security arrangements, a bike-riding rally at the Kargil War Memorial in Ladakh’s Dras area was flagged off by BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President Tejashwi Surya. The entire area was sealed and security forces were present in large numbers.

BJP leader They raised slogans of ‘Azad Hindustan Zindabad’, ‘Akhand Bharat Zindabad’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’. They hoisted the tricolor and sang patriotic songs. This is the first time that such a rally was organized by a political party to pay tribute to the soldiers who died in the Kargil War.

Srinagar’s Lal Chowk used to be a stronghold separatists Until 2019 when the central government reorganized Jammu and Kashmir and made it a union territory. The separatists used to call for people’s marches to Lal Chowk to demand independence during the unrest of 2008 and 2010.

Chugh said that the bike riding rally was organized to pay homage to the soldiers who died in the Kargil war.

“These youths, including youth from different parts of the valley, are going to Kargil, where the sons of India sacrificed their lives, but not even an inch of the land of the country was shaken,” he said.

National Vice President of BJYM, Delhi Neha Joshi told PTI That they are proud to be a part of the historic event.

“This yatra has been organized by the youth of Kashmir. We have come here to witness this historic event and to take this message to different corners of the country.”
