BJP, JD(S) will tie up for 2024 in Karnataka, says former chief minister BS Yediyurappa

New Delhi: Former Karnataka chief minister and senior BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa said Friday that his party would have an “understanding” with the Janata Dal (Secular) in the state for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

As part of this understanding, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has agreed “to give four Lok Sabha seats” to the H.D. Deve Gowda-led regional party, Yediyurappa told news agency PTI.

These would be Kolar, Hassan, Mandya and Bangalore Rural, a report said.

Karnataka has 28 Lok Sabha seats of which the BJP won 25 in 2019. The Congress and the JD(S) got one seat each. Former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s grandson Prajwal Revanna won from party stronghold Hassan.
