New Delhi: BJP Minority Morcha national president Jamal Siddiqui on Sunday alleged that Aligarh Muslim University vice-chancellor Tariq Mansoor refused to meet him to hoist the Indian national tricolor flag on the university campus before India’s 75th anniversary. Independence day.

Siddiqui’s effort is a part of this “Every Home Tricolor” Flag Initiative and Comprehensive ‘Azadi’s nectar festival’ Campaign launched by BJP government till 15th August to commemorate 75 years of independent India.

As ThePrint reported earlier, the BJP’s Minority Front, or minority wing, has gone ahead with its initiative. Distribution Tricolor flag to religious leaders, or religious leaders of many religions, to hoist the flag in mosques, temples, tombs and gurudwaras.

“We may be Muslims, Hindus, and celebrate our different festivals separately, but it is ‘desh ka festival’ (festival of the country), and everyone needs to celebrate it together to show our unity. I have also appealed to all religious leaders to celebrate this festival together by hoisting the (flag) in their premises,” Siddiqui told ThePrint.

Siddiqui had further said that the flags were made by Kashmiri women, while another source revealed that the Minority Front aims to hoist India’s tricolor flag “at 10,000 places across the country” for Independence Day.
