Last week, ahead of the bypolls to the Rampur assembly constituency, the BJP had organized a beneficiary conference, in which Pasmanda Muslims participated.
BSP chief Mayawati on Wednesday accused the BJP and the RSS of betraying Pasmanda Muslims after she organized a conference for members of the community.
Mayawati said the concern of the BJP and the RSS for Pasmanda Muslims is now a “new hoax” as their attitude towards the community is well known.
In a tweet in Hindi, he said, “The concern of the BJP and the RSS towards the Pasmanda Muslim community is a new hoax. His thinking, intention and attitude towards the community is not hidden from anyone. Last week, ahead of the by-elections in Rampur assembly constituency, the BJP had organized a beneficiary conference, in which Pasmanda Muslims participated.
In another tweet, Mayawati said, “The result of BJP’s negative approach towards the Muslim community is that they are still as poor, backward and distressed under their government as they were under the Congress rule.”
Minorities Welfare Minister Danish Azad Ansari along with senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak and State Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh addressed the gathering at Gandhi Stadium in Rampur.
The BJP has plans to hold more such meetings in the coming days in the Muslim dominated areas of the state.
