BJP says, ‘100% we will contest 2023 Karnataka elections under the leadership of CM Basavaraj Bommai.’

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that the 2023 Assembly elections in Karnataka will be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

The statement is significant as it comes amid the Congress’s relentless attack on Bommai.puppet chief,

BJP’s national general secretary and party’s Karnataka in-charge Arun Singh said there was no truth in the speculation that the Congress would oust Bommai.

“As a in charge (in charge) I am telling you this and you trust my statement. I have said 100 percent that we will fight the next election under Bommai’s leadership. He is a common man, he is doing great work for farmers, youth, SC, ST and we will come back with full majority. Our target is 150 seats and we will achieve that too.

“It is nothing but a thing created by Congress leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah as they have no other issue. Congress is a leaderless party, they have no issue to raise. He has no agenda against BJP. So with a plan they are trying to make such an issue that the CM is being changed. But there is no truth in this,” Singh said.

His statement comes at a time when talk of a change of leadership in the Karnataka government has created confusion among party workers ahead of the crucial assembly elections.

Singh hit out at the Congress and said the opposition, which is a divided house, was trying to make an issue out of nothing.
