BJP targets Congress for demanding President’s rule in Tripura

The ruling BJP in Tripura on Monday strongly opposed the Congress’ demand for imposition of President’s rule in the state and condemned it for attempting to malign the state’s image.

State saffron party leader And Tripura Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushant Choudhary claimed that AICC general secretary Ajay Kumar and party MLA Sudip Roy Burman had tried to send a “negative message” about Tripura to the country when he was in Delhi under the BJP leadership. was demanding.

“We strongly condemn the way Ajay Kumar and Sudip Roy Burman demanded President’s rule in Tripura citing the deteriorating law and order situation in front of the national media at AICC Headquarters in Delhi on Sunday,” Chowdhury said. “

Assembly elections in the state are to be held in March next year.

Continuing his attack, Mr. Chowdhury said, “It is ridiculous that Sudip Roy Burman did not go to Delhi and demand imposition of President’s rule during the 25 years of Communist rule, when murder, rape, assault, intimidation and intimidation were rampant. The scale was the state”.

He claimed that the Congress has a tradition of handing over power to the Left like in 1993.

“The then Prime Minister Narashima Rao imposed President’s rule in Tripura a few days before the assembly elections. The CPI(M)-led Left Front had won when the elections were held three months later.”

He claimed that the Congress was again playing the same game to hand over power to the Left Front as it had demanded President’s rule. “The Congress and the CPI-M are together for their mutual benefit,” remarked Mr. Choudhary.

However, he was quick to comment, “But 2022 is not 1993! Now (Narendra) Modiji is the Prime Minister and the demand for President’s rule will not be considered even if they demand because the situation in the state does not support their demand,” he said.

The people of the state are determined to judge the performance of 25 years of Communist rule and four and a half years of BJP-IPFT rule. “The agreement between Congress and CPI(M) will be rejected in Tripura as it did in West Bengal,” he said.

Despite the COVID pandemic, Tripura has developed on all fronts – from piped water supply to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and social pension. “People of the state will support the BJP on the basis of the performance of the government,” he said.
