BJP’s protest against DR Anil turns violent

A protest march taken out by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanding the resignation of Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation Working Standing Committee Chairman DR Anil turned violent on Monday.

On Monday, BJP workers took out a protest march in the medical college ward that Mr Anil represents, to the office of a charitable trust that owes allegiance to the Left. The protesters, led by a group of women, attempted to barge into the office and poured used motor oil at the entrance. Police personnel intervened and pushed them away from the office, leading to a scuffle and scuffle between the police and the workers.
